Antonio Parreiras, Proclamaçao da República Piratini (1915).

The Piratini Republic, also known as the Riograndense Republic, was a breakaway state formed during the early days of the Empire of Brazil in the first half of the nineteenth century. Located in what is now the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil, the nation existed during the republican revolt known as the Guerra dos Farrapos (1835-1846). 

Garibaldi was in the number that led the revolutionary forces
